As a first line of work for the upcoming Girl Empowerment Mission 2024, Talcher Thermal conducted a comprehensive baseline survey at its premises. The survey specifically targeted girls aged 10-12 years in Class V from 08 government schools within 04 peripheral Gram panchayats of TTPP. The objective was to gain insights into their existing knowledge and life skills, thereby facilitating the strategic planning of the upcoming four-week GEM (Girl Empowerment Mission) workshop.


GEM is NTPC's flagship program focusing on empowering young girls with a focus on diverse areas of development. Additionally, the survey serves as a pivotal tool for assessing the program's efficacy through pre and post-workshop evaluations, thus enabling the tracking of the girls' progress.


The main goal of the workshop is to create a supportive environment for girls to realize their full potential.
